9209 Table Lamp by for .
Paavo Tynell, one of the esteemed industrial designers and metal craftsmen of the 20th century, emerged during an era ripe for pioneering modern lighting. As the electric light revolutionized the world, so did Tynell’s innovative designs.
The 9209, distinguished by its spun brass shade, earned the nickname ‘Kypärä,’ Finnish for ‘helmet.’ Supported by a curved brass arm, the intricately perforated shade bears Tynell's signature triangular patterns, meticulously achieved by hand with specialized punch tools. Besides directing light downwards, the perforations allow for a gentle, textured illumination akin to starlight, adding a unique sparkle.
